Financial Literacy
Monday 5th September 2016
Today two woman came over to our school to teach us about saving and how to spend well. First they told us their names and told us what they were doing here. Then they talked a little bit about savings and asked us if we knew what and how to save. Next they handed us a piece of paper with the amount money of money the person on the paper had. Next to it on the paper was a list of things that the person had spent their money on. We were tasked to see what things she could have done without to save more money. Most people said that she should have not Topped up or gone to the movies with snacks. But I that she shouldn't have brought themselves some new jeans because it costed a lot of money.
After that they gave us a new and bigger piece of paper. Then they put us into groups so that we could find ways to save and earn money. In my gorp was Chris,Alfred,Me and Danny Joe. We first wrote down ideas to earn money. I personally think that we had brilliant ideas but on the next activity we did not do as well. A Lemonade Stand, Garage Sale, Selling Clothes and Doing Chores were just some of the ideas that our group had. After that we had to chose something that all of us wanted to save up for and then make a plan of how we were going to save enough money to archive that goal. But we didn't that much so we hid our paper, but they said who ever didn't come up and speak will do it the next day. But a boy called Mosses included Danny Joe even though in the middle he went with us and then switched at the end when were weren't doing so good.

Future Career

For my career I would like to become a basketball player for the NBA (National Basketball Association) playing the Cleveland Cavaliers. An average basketball player makes about 5 million dollars each year. But an MLB (Major League Baseball) only makes 3.3 million dollars a year. The NHL (National Hockey League) pay is even lower than that. They only make 2.4 million a year and a NFL (National Football League) makes 1.9 million.
Plus I already like basketball and play it. So I get paid to do what I love. If I didn’t become a NBA player I would like to become a freelance writer. Freelance writers get to work from their own homes and I also enjoy writing. They can chose what jobs to accept so that means any job with a deadline they do not have to accept it. You can earn as much money as you want by just accept more and more jobs. It also gives you more free time to do what you want to do because you can pick how many jobs you do.

Reading Today

Today me and the rest of the people in my reading group read chapter two of the book Private Peaceful. So far in the story a kid by the name Tommo Peaceful feels guilty for killing his father even though he didn't really kill him, They were taking a walk in the woods and a tree broke and was about to fall. As it was falling his father told him to get out of the way but he was so scared that he couldn't move. So his father had to push him out of the way while getting crushed instead. It doesn't really revel that he does die but it says that he is lying under the tree, while his nose bleeds.
But chapter 2 is way different. It is mostly about the entire family rather than just one person (Tommo).

To Auckland Transport
Dear Auckland Transport I hope that you can install some alarms that can alert the security when people are on the train track so that the security can take them off the track before a train comes. You also could put up gates along the train track so that people can not cross over the track and hurt themselves. Maybe you could hire people to watch the train track to watch if anyone is trying to cross the track.
Some people's hearing is impaired and they need a hearing aid to hear clearly. They might not hear the alarm from the train and killed. So I think you should install Toa sirens along the track for safety reasons. You should try and make trains easy to stop so that they can stop fast if someone happens to get on the track.

Haka Practice

Today Mrs.Tofa made us go to the hall after our SSR (Sustain Silent Reading) to practice the Haka. Firsgt we did the moari one which was reall hard and really boring. She made learn the words for ages and some of us including me didn't even know the actions. She showed a video of the All Blacks when they did the Haka as an examle. After we were done with that she showed us a video with the Samoan Haka and Tongan Haka. We decided to go with the Samoan Haka. It was cool and easy. She told Mosses to teach us because he already knew they actions and words.

Vollyball Kiwi Sport
Thursday 18th August 2016
Today we had Kiwi sports and was really really fun at the end when we had the games. As always the coach Antonio or Toni told us to grab a partner to practice the first activity with. My partner was Levi.R. In this activity we had to dig to each other while moving down the line that was fun also. After that we needed another pair to add on to the activity. We were with Mafoa and Mateaki. Two people will pass the ball to them then they dig it and swap places.
Later we departed from the and went back too two people. It was fun because we were doing our spikes. I don't think Levi.R had fun because when I threw it up to him I always did it wrong. Later we went into a line while the coach gave us the number of our team. I was in group 2 and so was Levi.G,Alfred and Mrs. Tofa. We were going against team 1 then team 2. When won both matches and then went back to class.
